5 Reasons Why It's Important to Standardize the Rounding Process

It has been proven that rounding is critical to the success of a healthcare organization.  From patient satisfaction to life safety, rounds are an integral part of hospital operations, yet many organizations don't understand the value in standardizing your rounding process.

These are 5 reasons why it is important to standardize.

  1. Better Adoption - By being consistent when rounds occur, they become ingrained in the daily regimen. This provides for greater adoption among team members.  Nurses, Administrators, and others can more easily plan their day so rounding does not become a drain given their current workload.
  2. Better Data - This is one of the biggest benefits of standardizing your rounding process.  By using standard questions available in automated solutions, questions are asked in the same way each and every time.  Standard questions also allow for specific consistency and cleaner data.  By employing standardization, organizations will have quantifiable data with detailed information making reports more meaningful and actionable.
